With the Grammys now past us, and the Oscars soon to come up on the
horizon, it is only fitting for Hachland to host its own award show.
For
those of you who remember me, Toefer, from my Loozer days, you will
remember that we hosted an award show at my former website. Yes, the
Loozer Awards was a great annual event at the The Loozer Cafe...well, at
least for the year or two that it was done.
But no, this is not going to be the new Loozer Awards. This is bigger, and better.
To be fair, its not really like giving out real awards.
It's bigger than that.
This is about right vs wrong, life vs death, yes vs no, the way vs not the way.
In other words:
Left vs Right (or Right vs Left)
or
Liberal vs Conservative (or Conservative vs Liberal)
We
hear it on the news every day, how the liberals run the media, etc.,
etc. Thats a story for a different day. But what about Hollywood, and
the music industry (sorry, they don't have an all-encompassing town to
use), or sports? Which side of the political spectrum has the best of
the best? Thats what these awards are for. That is the purpose of the
Hachland Academy's nice little virtual statuettes, affectionately
nicknamed the Polys.
When all is said and done, we will crown
winners in various categories; for movies we'll have best director,
actor, and actress; for music we'll have best from each genre of music
(or at least rock, pop, and R&B/rap); for sports we'll have the best
from each of the major sports (and we'll even include NASCAR, but I
don't think that one is being heavily contested from the Left).
Be
sure to check back later this week for the first part in the 3-part
miniseries, to be followed by an after-party (well, not really, but one
final post to sum up what we've learned, and what we can take away).
Its going to be great!
Let the Polys begin!
