The End of Metta World Peace
It's been a while since I've spoken anything about sports. I've been real busy with things that well, you know. But recently somethings has come up. It's trending world wide, it's one of the hottest searches on the world wide web. It's the end of Metta World Peace.

You see we are talking about a basketball player here. I know the name, the word, it's odd. But the basketball player or the man known as Metta World Peace is none other than Ron Artest.

The six foot seven former Defensive Player of the year is once again the headlines of a media firestorm in which no one wants to be in the front of. You see the NBA Star formerly known as Ron Artest has gotten himself in trouble once more. This time could be the worst yet.

In 2004, Artest was involved in one of the sports worlds worst recorded instisances of violence when he and numerous fans and other players got involved in near gang war. Malice at the Palace as the event is now called occured during a Indiana Pacers and Detriot Pistons game when Pistons center Ben Wallace was fouled hard by Ron Artest, thus leading Wallace to shove Artest and began the chaos. After Artest later charged into the stands after a fan he belived threw something at him he was suspended for 86 games and lost an estimated 7 million dollars.

While Artest obviously became dubbed a problem child, he later would go on to change his name to Metta World Peace. The reasoning? To "bring youth together all around the world."

Well, he's back in the news again. This time after being involved once again in a basketball altercation. Last night he was involved in a hard foul against Oklahoma City's James Harden in which he hit him upside the head with his elbow. World Peace was ejected from the game.

The event which obviously would not have simply ended with a simple ejection. Was fueled when World Peace took to the world of Twitter and posted: Hope James Hardin is ok... I remember when I hit by Marc Gasol the same way.. I was spitting up blood and a headache during the game...

This was posted shortly after the ejection. Leading many to think that it was not a smart choice nor option. So he choose to take to the Twitter world once more as he then posted: I just watched the replay again..... Oooo.. My celebration of the drunk really was too much... Didn't even see James..... Omg... Looks bad

Finally some honest to goodness honesty and smarts from the man who changed. Which looks like someone may have whispered into his ear and said something along the lines of beware what you say, you might get yourself suspended for a lengthy time.

Although there is a vast disillusion in the world of Metta World Peace as he once again took to the Twitter world and stated that: Wow.. Didn't really think Kendrick Perkins broke my nose.... Super sore... Basketball too emotional .......

Maybe this media blitz will help the Lakers star, maybe it won't. Just think about the significance of it all, a man who was suspended for a entire season for one of NBA's biggest issues ever is now in the news because of another violent act on the court. The pressure being pushed down from the media may cause another suspension. Which may eventually lead to the end of Metta World Peace.

Here is what the rest of the Twitter world has said:

From tennis star Andy Roddick (@andyroddick): "I think metta world peace should change his name to holy flying elbow."

@sportspickle: "Disillusioned Metta World Peace changes his name to Military Industrial Complex."

@phabriss: "After that little elbowing incident Sunday, I think Ron Artest's name should be Metta World War, not Metta World Peace."

@DanWolken: "If that's what World Peace looks like, I'd hate to see what Metta Cold War is capable of."

@PatMcAfeeShow: "Metta world peace got a bit Ron Artesty didn't he."

@JCLayfield: "Shouldn't Ron Artest become Metta World Moron after last night's flagrant foul? World Peace just doesn't seem right."

@BleacherReport: "Oh the irony of Metta World Peace."

@NOTSportsCenter: "BREAKING: After seeing him knock out Harden, Vince McMahon has signed Metta World Peace to the #WWE, thinks his personality is a perfect fit."

@awfulannouncing: "How could Metta World Peace have a crazy Ron Artest relapse on Earth Day of all days? Cmon man."
