The Misunderstanding Of The Three Stooges
After viewing the newest installment from the Farrelly Brothers last night I have come to the conclusion that they missed the boat. Hell, they not only missed the boat they weren't even on the same ocean.

The new installment was just that new, nothing seen before. Yes, the movie as I'm speaking of is entitled the Three Stooges which has been around for nearly a 100 years but after all this time there is a new cast. A new motivational drive should have been pushed along with it, yet it wasn't. It just whimpered into the theaters just like it has whimpered through 10 plus years of production studio jargon.

Now yes, I'm trying to say that the new Three Stooges movie failed. Not on a production standard, lack of laughs or anything with the movie itself. What I'm saying is the failure was with the promotion or lack of. Yes, the stars and cast have done your usual basic television promotion. Sean Hayes was on Conan last night. All three of them were on WWE Raw the other week. That should have been good enough right?

Ummm... noOOOOOOOOO!!! It wasn't right, it wasn't good enough. You see a new production of the Stooges, that hasn't been a documentary or a mockumentary or whatever AMC gave us a few years ago we haven't seen. We haven't seen a new production of the Stooges for well, over 40 years! That's 40 years of re-runs!!

Even the last productions of the Stooges were a far cry from where they were originally as Curly, one of the main characters, he's the fat one, has been dead since 1952. My own father wasn't even born for nearly a decade later.

So what should have been done? How about more promotion? We shouldn't have seen a select few promotional key points. Oh, well, we ran the commercials. We did some television episodes. Heck, we were even on WWE Raw. Hell, people who watch wrestling love the Stooges.

Is that true? All wrestling fans love the Stooges. How many of them have actually seen the Stooges? Reruns of the Stooges are seen rarely on television these days. Yes, AMC owns those rights. If I want to watch them at 3am I can. But I don't choose to skip work to watch them.

What should have been done to promote the Stooges? Well, how about some actual promotion. I don't understand why we didn't see a bunch of which. What's hard with the Stooges being pushed into some reality television shows? Or maybe we didn't see this because it would have hurt the story telling........

WHO CARES ABOUT THE STORY IF THE STORY DOESN'T MAKE ANY MONEY!!? Yes, I said it. A guy who makes a penny for everything he does on his website. I only make that much money because I found five dollars in a ditch once.

The Stooges should have been placed in some of these big time television shows and well, mostly some of the small time ones. No promotion for this promotion needed. Don't say next week the Stooges are coming. Just throw them into the scene and go with it.

Have the Stooges in shows like Storage Wars. Either have them in the actual storage unit that was being sold or they're a bunch of idiots bidding on the unit.

How about if they were placed into one of those repo shows? Having the three of them confuse the likes of of the said repo guy. Have them accidentally towing Curly away instead of the car. I don't see how that couldn't work.

But nope. They knew what they're doing. Now we'll never see a new version of the Stooges again. For what they made opening weekend, they're almost declared as a bomb. No more, no more. Good bye Stooges. Thanks for the memories.

Hell, the lack of promotion which of course led to the lack of money the movie made will result in tragedy the likes we will never see.

Imagine if the Stooges made some money. Imagine if there were actually people dying to see the movie. Imagine if you will the Stooges were promoted all over television. They made a showing even on HLN.

But no, they didn't.

Now with the revival of a new Stooges. It will spell the end for a revival of all the classic comedy groups we remember. Or well, the reason the Stooges failed that our fathers remember and even their fathers remember.

The biggest problem with the Stooges movie is simple. It was promoted towards the kids. To the kids who's fathers never saw the Stooges. Whose father's fathers father grew up with the Stooges. You see there is a huge a incredibly huge generalization gap. One of which we have never seen in the major motion picture industry ever. And the producers of this movie just well, they showed up and didn't help the promotion and broke all of our hearts.

Let me state something right now before you miss read everything I've said. THE MOVIE WAS GREAT! Couldn't have been better. Well, the lack of people viewing the movie could have been better. That's my fear, that's my terrible scare. The end of the Stooges once and for all.

The lack of promoting this movie saw gives me the sense that everyone involved were ashamed of it. Why wouldn't you slap the Stooges on NBC's Today show? Having them run in and out of a few segments? Getting in a slap fight with Al Roker? Messing with Kathy Lee Gifford's wine. This could have been the best promotion too.

Not that everyone watches NBC's Today Show, but the amount of people who are against the Stooges and for it. Well, those who watch the Today Show are against it. They just don't get it. You should have pushed that. Pushed the fact that the Stooges weren't liked or understood. Made those people come out and see it.

Instead what did you do? We put a commercial up and hoped for the best. That's it!? That's it!?

Someone should really slap the producers of this movie around. Or explain to me whats wrong with advertisers!?

STOOGES should have been pushed more and more and more!!!

The only hope one could hope for is that the likes of the young Stooges used in the movie get a chance to shine. A series of shorts on the internet would help incredibly. But then again, someone will mess that one up to.

Why don't we just re-re-re-re-release another Titanic movie. This time make it in 5D!

Why can't I just have my Stooges!?

Oh and for you thinking the movie was bad. Just like everyone wants you to believe it was. IT WAS AWESOME! It's the Stooges it's supposed to be stupid. That's what makes the Stooges well, the Stooges.

For websites like Rotten Tomatoes to give it a 44 out of 100 is a travesty!
