Today is the 100th anniversary of one of the most tragic events of all-time, that being the sinking of the RMS Titanic. But do we even believe it happened?
A shocking revelation has just occurred. You may think I'm insane or maybe the opposite. But then again many of you probably already thought I was one with a screw loose or two. Yet, there has to be some sort of doubt in the actual sinking of the Titanic.
Yes, they made a movie. Big deal. Yes, they found the sunken vessel. It took over 70 years to even find the wreck. So why can't I doubt the very existence? I mean it's not like I can even go out an ask one of the survivors.
So how could I be so rude to say that something like this had never happened? Easy, because it didn't happen. It was a ploy. The worlds biggest con since well, since ever!
How could this be the biggest problem ever? Well, you see the United States had a problem. In 1912 and even before then the country in which I currently live in was being over ran by well, people. Too many people were coming to this nation and we couldn't do anything about it.
Since the late 1880s a huge surge of immigrants began flooding themselves into America. Many of which were from southern and eastern Europe. Which included countries like Greece, Italy, Portugal and Spain. Sending great fears into the earlier immigrants that had previously arrived to America.
With the rising new immigrants and the fear that they would bring new diseases, poverty and other not good for the new country problems a huge push for new laws was made. Laws that wouldn't limit the amount of people coming to our country and even literacy type laws were thrown into the mix.
Yet still new immigrants were coming to America at rates not seen before. Thousands and thousands of them poured into Ellis Island. Speaking languages others had never heard before and shocking the city of New York with a huge population up draft.
Thus bringing us to 1912, when a new ship was set to make its maiden journey to the new world. Yes, I am talking about the RMS Titanic.
The RMS Titanic was built in Belfast, Ireland by shipbuilders Harland and Wolff. It was one of three ships to be built and each of the three were to be the biggest ship liners ever. While the Titanic has now been known that it's sinking date is on April 15th, many don't know that only a few days earlier it was sea tested. Plus it was never christened as many ships are. In act in which a champagne bottle is slammed over the head of the boat in order to bring good hopes to it.
While this itself may not explain why the Titanic sunk other theories may have their hand involved too. Such as the national coal strike of 1912 in the United Kingdom. In which the Miners Federation of Great Britain called for a minimum wage instead of the complicated wage structure that was previously used. This strike ended shortly before the launch of the Titanic yet gave great problems to the ships sailing. As the ship had to look for the amount of coal it would need from other shipping vessels that were tied up to the docks due to the strike. Because back then we depended on coal. Foreign coal, domestic coal I don't think we're going to be talking about that.
So with the immigration problem, the lack of coal and the fact the ship was never christianed all combined for a perfect storm. Plus it was a cold April, unlike our current April, so the sea was a mean bitterly cold one. Maybe it was just an iceberg that hit the ship. But what if it really was a conspiracy?
A conspiracy to send fear into the masses. A fear of if you sail the ocean to America you will die. So just don't do it because you'd rather live in a place you hate than die.
I'm not one for conspiracy theories but this one sounds like a real good one. I mean it's ripe with conspiracy due to all the things this story lacks. Yes, I know it doesn't lack a story, James Cameron taught us that. But what I mean is really a iceberg? It's like you are driving a car in the middle of a desert and somehow you crash and die. And how did this happen? YOU HIT A TREE!? COME ON!!! Seriously!
Would you think that was a conspiracy? At your waking hour after your death, if there is one, when you learn how you died what would you first thought be? "Damn I'm an idiot? Or damn I have no luck."
You would have some sort of doubt right? Not like oh, we hit a iceberg, it is what it is.
But then again who am I to question things that happened 100 years ago. I don't even remember where I put my cellphone.
I'm not saying either way but like I previously mentioned there was a huge growth in the amount of immigration from south Europe. Which had countries like well, it had Italy And well, maybe some one back then could see into the future and thought damn this Italy problem is bigger than a couple thousand lives.
So in order to scare the Italians from immigration to America and settling in say a certain state with the name of New Jersey than well, sink the ship! We don't want this to happen! Imagine a television show they said, yes, they didn't have television back then hardly anyone even had a radio or a telephone. Yet they envisioned a time in which Italians moved to Jersey and well, people who weren't even originally from the country of Italy would think they were.
And well, let's thank the people who sank the ship instead of the people who selfishly died on it. Yeah, that's the ticket!
If you don't believe my conspiracies than go out and watch the movie. You probably had it on VHS at one point. Of all the people I know they had a copy. So go out and find that copy and dust of your VHS Player, wait, you don't have one? I think the local Salvation Army or even Goodwill has a couple. Or if you are mister rich go out to the movie theaters and see the re-release of it. It's in 3D this type, just like the 3rd Friday The 13th movie. I think this one they might see the Iceberg.
So go enjoy it and seeing Jack die at the end. Yes, Leonardo DiCaprio's character is named Jack Dawson. Jack just like Johnny Depp's character in Pirates of the Caribbean. While the pirates last name is Sparrow and Titanic is Dawson, they're first names are the same. Plus they both are stories told using a boat as the main feature. Heck, if you want to go as far as saying Sparrow means something else like how it means a bird and that Jack Dawson is really Jack Sparrow. And that the reason for the name change is well to keep the conspiracy alive yet the reasoning its Sparrow instead of Dawson is because a sparrow is a bird. And that the bird flies and will fly on and just like the quote in the Titanic movie my heart will go on. See, see, see, see, the connection has been made thus a conspiracy has been made.
Ha, I'm right! I win! Go watch the movies if you don't believe me. Because they're connected more than you think.
