Oh it's beginning again, it's the best time of the year. I can smell it in the air, I can feel it in my bones. Oh, I am so so happy.
Tis the season it's Opening Day!! With this comes lot's and lots of hope either for you or me and for the 32 teams out there! While some know deep down that they're not going to do anything at all, they do have a slight
hope much like a serial killer sitting on death row has some hope. Hope as in the entire world will flip inside out and so on and so on.
We all know that won't happen, so what will happen? Let's try my predictions on for size! With the big note that this year we will see two Wild Cards!! Yay! Yay! More games.. Well at least two more games...
American League:
AL EAST: The AL East is and has been for numerous years been the power house of the MLB. Especially with the likes of the Red Sox and the Yankees coming from this division. It's where money is spent and championships are usually won. This year I feel no exceptions will be found here. While things have been flipped upside down in Bean Town with the arrival of a new manager, I really don't see Bobby Valentine bringing any sweat heart type luck and I still see the pinstripes taking this division like it's well, like it's their job. The only team to really watch is the Blue Jays, this could be the year that they break into the big three, while I really doubt it, they've been on the verge the past few years all it takes is one big run or one big injury.
Predictions 1. New York Yankees 2. Tampa Bay Rays (Wild Card) 3. Boston Red Sox 4. Toronto Blue Jays 5. Baltimore Orioles
AL CENTRAL: The Detroit Tigers were the best of this crappy division and they just got better when they went out and signed Prince Fielder for a King's Ransom. Yet with a key injury hindering this they still have the best pitcher in the game. The White Sox have lost too much, way too much key players much like the Twins did last year. But the Twins will be better while the White Sox will be well, like the Indians have been portrayed in numerous movies that starred one Charlie Sheen. Oh and as for the Indians? Maybe they'll learn how to read a birth certificate.
Predictions 1. Detroit Tigers 2. Kansas City Royals 3. Cleveland Indians 4. Minnesota Twins 5. Chicago White Sox
AL WEST: The Angels will defiantly not need the likes of Christoper Lloyd this year as they signed one of the greatest players of all-time in Albert Pujols and have acquired the likes of C.J. Wilson. While the Rangers who lost Wilson aren't too afraid as they have gained some strength on the mound as they went across to the Orient and signed the likes of Yu Davarish. As for the other two teams... Well, they won't be lonely for long as the Houston Astros will be joining this division sooner than later. Oh, and the A's have brought in the Cuban sensation Yoenis Cespades who might have to fight another dictator in Manny Rameriez... Yes, Manny's back!
Predictions 1. Los Angeles Angels 2. Texas Rangers (Wild Card) 3. Seattle Mariners 4. Oakland A’s
National League:
NL EAST: While the power house team is obviously the Phillies, the newly named Miami Marlins have made a huge splash by not only the new stadium, the new uniforms to go along with the new name but added a new manager some great new aces and new players. From Carlos Zambrano to Mark Buehrle and even a fantastic closer in Heath Bell. Oh, don't forget they still have Josh Johnson. While the Nationals are hoping Davey Johnson can manager this team of youngsters and up and coming aces such as the sensational Stephen Strasburg to go along with Jordan Zimmmerman, the "I still have it" Chien-Ming Wang and newly signed former All-Stars in Gio Gonzalez and Edwin Jackson can make that mound in Washington just as strong as the one in South Philly. While the Mets are sad and that's the nicest thing we can say, for the Braves it may be Chipper Jones last year it may also be the last time the Braves are relavent with the Nationals and Marlins making a strong statement in the off-season like they have.
Predictions 1. Philadelphia Phillies 2. Miami Marlins (Wild Card) 3. Washington Nationals 4. Atlanta Braves 5. New York Mets
NL CENTRAL: The Milwaukee Brewers are the strongest team in this division even with the Cardinals winning it all last year, this could easily be the year the Brewers make it. Although losing the huge Prince Fielder and some how being luckier than lucky with Ryan Braun being saved from suspension, they also signed former Cub Aramis Ramirez to fill the void left. As for the rest of the division the Reds will be much stronger, the Cardinals a little weaker with the huge void lost at their first base position. As for the Cubs, they also lost their first basemen but have gained some greatness in their front office with Theo Epstein. While this is a rebuilding year for sure some never know, and some never know that maybe the Pirates will make a big splash and have a million visitors to their ball club this year. And maybe the Astros will win the World Series this year and next year as well, being the one and only team to go back to back in two different leagues. But then again...
Predictions 1. Milwaukee Brewers 2. Cincinnati Reds (Wild Card) 3. St Louis Cardinals 4. Chicago Cubs 5. Pittsburgh Pirates 6. Houston Astros
NL WEST: How the NL West Was Won... Has been the funniest story ever. Because the last few years minus the one rare exception when the Giants made it the World Series, and even for that year as well, this division has been one in which no team really wants to win. And now that the Dodgers have been bought and sold for 2 billion dollars, Donnie Baseball will be stuck managing as a possible lame duck manager. The Giants are relying once again on their pitching to bring them back to the top and far be it from another rare injury they will be back there unless the Diamondbacks hitters with the newly acquired Jason Kubel will help Chris Young slam a few more grand slams and make a run at it with Travor Cahill. While the Rockies and Padres look doomed to repeat more failure especially the Padres who seem to enjoy getting rid of their roster much like the A's but they can't even seem to make a major motion picture about this travesty.
Predictions 1. San Francisco Giants 2. Arizona Diamondbacks 3. Los Angeles Dodgers 4. Colorado Rockies 5. San Diego Padres
So there you have it... the winners of the regular season... See you.... Oh, okay wait I will tell you about the playoffs... Calm down over there Jim Mora.

Yes... Yes, I know, I'm taking quite a risk over here. Phillies and the Yankees in the playoffs and the World Series. It's like saying Hulk Hogan and Ric Flair are going to be wrestling against each other. It's been done before. But well, I'm sticking with this "WILD GUESS"
